    The Central Texas Afterschool Network hosts an annual conference, CTAN University.  The conference, directed at OST providers of all levels and experience, is an opportunity to think critically about Out-of-School Time. Through CTAN University, CTAN hopes to increase quality standards, opportunities, and points of access within Out of School Time. 

    Registration Options and Fees

    Afterschool 101 ($25)– This is a special track for new front-line staff. Afterschool 101 attendees will be able to enjoy the conference-style experience with a pre-set schedule. Afterschool 101 sessions will include a YPQ module, a session on OST tips and tricks, and a workshop on Social and Emotional Learning. Registration includes lunch and access to conference keynote. Space is limited, so register now!

    CTAN University ($50 member/$80 non-member)– This registration ticket gets you access to the full CTAN University conference experience plus optional CTAN Regular Membership! If you are a current member of CTAN, register for this ticket using your discount code: Member2015.

    CTAN University + Comprehensive Membership ($110)– Do you want a little bit more out of your conference experience? Nourish U: Healthy Eating and Drinking MINI-GRANT OPPORTUNITY!

The Michael & Susan Dell Community Collaborative for Child Health is pleased to announce an opportunity for schools, child care providers, wellness teams, and youth-based organizations to apply for the Nourish U: Healthy Eating & Drinking Mini-Grant.  Between 10-15 awards of $250 to $500 will be offered to groups seeking to promote healthy eating and/or drinking through current or new educational programs, awareness campaigns, nutrition initiatives and community events.Preference will be granted to applicants who explore creative ways to share their work and expand nutrition promotion beyond the classroom and into the school or broader communities. The grants are sponsored by the Michael & Susan Dell Center for Healthy Living at the University of Texas School of Public Health with funding from the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation.

Community Spotlight – Richard Tagle


This month, CTAN would like to spotlight, Richard Tagle the CEO of the Andy Roddick Foundation. Richard works with the community to expand opportunities for young people to learn, thrive and succeed. For the past 33 years, Richard has gained experience in youth center work in education, health, and OST arenas.
