CTAN is an active membership organization established as a collaborative effort between private and non-profit organizations in the Central Texas area that are committed to supporting providers that serve school-age children and their families during Out-of-School Time.
Our mission is to expand access to high quality Out-of-School Time opportunities for children, youth, and their families in Central Texas.
CTAN promotes effective educational practices through resource sharing, networking, advocacy, research, assessment and evaluation, and collaboration among providers, families, and educational institutions. In order to increase access to quality Out-of-School Time opportunities, CTAN focuses on four key dimensions of Central Texas Out-of-School Time:
We have trained 80 program providers through the CTAN Professional Development Series and 102 providers during our annual Afterschool 101 day of training.
We have also trained 24 different Out-of-School Time organizations through the CTAN Professional Development Series, and 30 different Out-of-School Time sites from 7 different Independent School Districts during our annual Afterschool 101 day of training.
We have engaged 45 volunteers during our Breakfast of Champions Awards Ceremony, Afterschool 101 day of trainings, and research initiatives for the Central Texas Out-of-School Time community.
We have engaged 62 leaders in the Out-of-School Time community in a collaborative effort to build an Out-of-School Time System in Central Texas.
We have 70 active members, spanning 24 Out-of-School Time organizations in Central Texas.
As a community, we have collectively recognized 114 Out-of-School Time Champions that create meaningful impacts for our Central Texas children and youth.
